Apple now holds the patent for rectangular device with rounded corners

As unbelievable as it may seem, the design for a rectangular device with rounded corners is now officially in Apple’s portfolio of intellectual property. Patent number D670,286, which the company filed back in 2010, has been issued by the USPTO on November 6, and within it is described “the ornamental design for a portable display device”, as pictured below. In other words, the majority of tablet manufacturers could potentially get sued by Apple for selling products that look too much like an iPad. But is that really going to happen?

Nexus 4 review round-up

 Nexus 4 review round up: Yes, it is the phone you want to buyThe first Nexus 4 reviews are in and they have the expected verdict. If I would have to sum up all the Nexus 4 reviews that I have read in last one hour or so – the phone has a great display, great performance, so-so battery life and a decent design. I am not talking about LTE because it does not really matter much outside US right now, yes Europe is getting 4G, Korea has already it and blah blah, but I think you can manage decent browsing and other data experience on HSPA+, which is supported on LG Nexus 4.

Hardware

Yes, let’s start with that, as you would have seen in the images, there is nothing extraordinary about design. It is elegant, nice looking and but it is clearly uninspired, personally I have no issues with that. Unless you are looking for a work of art, LG Nexus 4 seems decent enough.

The yacht that Steve Jobs built with French designer Philippe Starck revealed [Gallery, Video]

Dutch site OneMoreThing grabbed some pictures of the unique vessel that Steve Jobs was designing at the time of his death a year ago with French designer Philippe Starck. The project was started in 2009 and today’s launch of ‘Venus’ was attended by Jobs Wife and three of his children.

Watch three ASUS Padfone 2 video ads right here

Asus just completed presenting their latest smartphone – the Padfone 2. We already gave you a really good idea of how it looks like and we even have a hands-on article straight from the announcement event. But if you didn’t have the time to watch the event itself, you might have missed these Padfone 2 video ads.

The clips were first shown during the unveiling event in Milan, but there are finally available online separately. And these are actually pretty nice. Enjoy!
